About Us

SWAP enables, encourages and engages smart, passionate local influencers through training and networking to learn and exemplify accountability as integral to the purpose of nation building. We connect a network of innovative and results-driven champions and support their initiatives using their public office or influence to create and sustain durable and productive systems and institutions in African countries to serve the needs of all citizens.

An active and growing national network of grassroots SWAP champions and members who are committed to nation building in Nigeria.


 MISSION

Providing the training, support and skills needed to champion participation, innovation and service delivery, and genuine nation building starting at the grassroots.


 OBJECTIVES

SWAP is organized and committed to achieve the following:

  • Build the capacity of champions who prioritize programs that improve quality of life in their communities, initiate or drive policy and work plan development and help guarantee the best performance possible. 
  • Sponsor training in leadership and communication skills, community involvement and enlightened participation in the political process among SWAP members and champions. 
  • Train SWAP members in purposeful service, winning campaign strategies and offer a forum for leveraging influence from others in the network. 
  • Support SWAP champions to innovate and improve service delivery results by working with them to develop smart and sustainable strategies and solutions. 
  • Facilitate and promote the initiatives of change makers and influencers who demonstrate an understanding, interest, and commitment to SWAP. 
  • Solicit, directly and indirectly, accept and accumulate, voluntary personal contributions, and to make distributions towards supporting the work of accountable champions in line with all applicable Nigerian laws. 
  • Provide an opportunity for individuals interested in the future of Nigeria to contribute to the support of champions who by their activities, personal conduct and record of performance have demonstrated an interest in promoting the principles to which SWAP is dedicated. 

STRATEGIC PLANS

This is our roadmap for immediate action;
  1. Organize 5 forums online or offline with group learning opportunities by Dec 2017. 
  2. Engage and raise the profile of 10 SWAP champions and work with each on an innovative improvement project to give their grassroots activities more impact by June 2018. 
  3. Sponsor 20 SWAP champions to attend local events or appear on TV, radio and in the press to discuss SWAP initiatives and plans by Dec 2018. 
  4. Connect and train 500 Nigerian local government councilors, chair-persons, and state and national assembly members by December 2019.
